Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is nutritious and rich in antioxidants, especially flavonoids. It is said to contain essential minerals such as magnesium, iron and potassium, which promote muscle function, energy production and general well-being. Cocoa beans contain more antioxidants than red wine or green tea and are a real source of minerals. Hand-picked raw cocoa beans are selected and only the best are fermented. This process reduces the bitterness of the cocoa beans and preserves the nutritional value.
Regular consumption can improve mood and cognitive function due to the theobromine and phenylethylamine in cocoa. Excessive consumption, however, can cause side effects such as headaches, insomnia or upset stomach due to the caffeine and theobromine they contain.
Cocoa powder is versatile and is perfect in pastries, smoothies, hot drinks or as an addition to dry breakfasts and desserts, providing a healthy way to enhance the flavour of foods.
The recommended dose is 10-15 g per day.
