Shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes) originated in East Asia, where they have been cultivated and used medicinally for over a thousand years. Traditionally prized for both their culinary and health-promoting properties, shiitake mushrooms are often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to promote health and longevity, strengthen the immune system and improve circulation. There have been many studies claiming that shiitake mushrooms are rich in essential vitamins and minerals.

Attention! Shiitake mushroom powder is generally safe for most people, but some may experience side effects, especially if consumed in large quantities: – a possible allergic reaction, when a rash called “shiitake dermatitis” may develop; – possible digestive upsets such as bloating and diarrhoea.

Directions for use: take one to three times daily with food or a glass of water.

Dosage: The recommended dose is 1-4 capsules per day, but not more than 3 grams per day.
