Organic moringa leaf powder
Moringa (Moringa oleifera), also known as the “miracle tree”, whose roots, stems, leaves, seed pods, resins and flowers have long been considered to have healing properties. Moringa originated in the Himalayan highlands, particularly in India, and later spread to south-west Asia, south-west and north-east Africa, Madagascar, the Philippines and the United States.
Both moringa powder and dried moringa leaves come from the same source, the Moringa oleifera tree, but differ in preparation, texture and use.
Moringa has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. It is considered to be an all-in-one plant with many health benefits.
Moringa powder is made by drying fresh moringa leaves at a low temperature. The dried leaves are then ground into a fine powder, which preserves all the plant’s nutrients. Dried moringa leaves are obtained by air-drying fresh leaves until they become crisp and brittle.
Like moringa powder, dried moringa leaves are nutrient-rich and contain essential vitamins and minerals. However, they may contain slightly lower concentrations of nutrients compared to moringa powder.
Moringa is known as a superfood. Thanks to its exceptional nutritional value, it is a natural and versatile addition to a healthy diet.
Moringa is said to contain substances that support overall health and strengthen the body’s defences. The nutrient content of moringa can provide a natural energy boost.
ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization) says: “In the tropics, malnutrition is the main cause of high infant mortality. Moringa, considered one of the most nutrient-dense plants in the world, could be used to help feed starving children. It is an important source of nutrients for breastfeeding mothers and developing children.”
Possible side effects of moringa powder:
Although moringa powder is generally safe to consume, excessive consumption may cause mild side effects such as nausea, diarrhoea or stomach upset.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as those taking medication or with certain medical conditions, should be careful before adding moringa powder to their diet.
